apartment buildings impacting a total of 20 apartment homes. firefighters say that everyone got out safely but they think that at least 20 people are now displaced from building one. they are still trying to get a head count how many were in building two. residents say it was terrifying. >> i saw it and i heard, boom, and then i heard the fire alarm going up and i jumped up and i said, what is going on and i ran out the front door and the smoke just bam, went like that. >> one person stopped to check out the fire after seeing the highway while driving by. firefighters had to take a defensive approach because they say the roof collapsed in one of the buildings. the callism in a fire started on a balcony. firefighters do not know where or why. they are going to look into that and the investigation will be started shortly when they have this all mopped up.

they say everyone is accounted for. everyone is okay it was a smooth and calm evacuation. >> thank you. developing news a massive wildfire burning in lake county has new destroyed 15 more homes. new numbers from jal fire showing 39 homes now gone and the rocky fire now stands at 68,000 acres burn growing just over a thousand acres overnight. it remains 20 percent contained. the concern today is that the winds could pick up as the fire make as run to the north. cal fire has increased the number of firefighters to 3,500 to make sure it does not spread any further. >> we are not out of the woods. we have to make sure our lines are wind tested and they are still working on improving the lines. there is 57 working. >> bulldozers worked on the fire line to keep full containment.

details. >> netflix has become the most generous company in the bay area and, perhaps, in the entire country allowing new parents to take a year off. >> netflix is changing the landscape for working parents. the video streaming company based in los gatos announced to the 2,000 employees they can take as much time as they want during the first year after a child's pith or adoption. with pay. parenting advocates applaud the move. >> the first year of a baby's life is critical for bonding and brain development. we know that babies who have strong attachments to their parents are more healthy and have higher iqs to having as much time as you need to bond with your baby is really important. >> this is how other technical giants compare to netflix. google office five months paid leave for moms and a month and a half for dads. facebook offers parents four months paid leave. at yahoo million gets four months paid leave and dad half that time.

>> several teens were given a spa day in san jose. that is not usual for some young ladies but what these girls are dealing with is out of the ordinary. abc7 reporter matt keller is in san jose with their story. matt? >> the spa in the hotel is a popular place to go to relax. for nine teenagers battling cancer, it is more than that: it is a time to be normal. being a teenager is difficult. being a teenager battling cancer is tougherrer. the nine young ladies ages 13 to 19 are being treated for the life threatening diseases at children's hospital. they escape reality in a giant pink limousine. >> i love what we do showing that they care for us not only for our health but how we feel and make us happy. >> 15-year-old ashley and her friends arrived at the spa?

downtown san jose at the fairmont hotel. they are trading cancer treatment for spa treatment, manicures, pedicures, facials and massage, a rest for their bodies and minds. >> it is nice for them to have the time to pamper their bodies and to feel beautiful and girly. >> the polish on the toes and findings fade, relaxation will turn to anxiety when they return to the hospital but for a day a girl can be a girl. all is normal. >> it feels normal, like a teenage girl having a massage or getting a pedicure like every girl does once in a while. >> this is the 7th year for the event. the spa donates all services and then they hop back into the giant pink limousine and they will go out for a special lunch here in san jose. >> france one of the young ladies will become an engineer

because what do you think when you think tech engineer? do you picture a young bay area woman who is creating social media buzz. this year is 22-year-old who first appeared on a bart ad, right? you can see the billboard. it is for san francisco based tech company. now she has gotten so much attention from the ads she has started doing this, put up a tweet. it said "i look like an engineer," and put this out because she wants to have people think differently. she got so much response from the ad, both positive and negative. the point is, anyone can look like an engineer because there is not one defined book. the industry needs diversity. women all around the world are tweeting iraqs of themselves with her # ilooklikeanengineer. college girls from canada, civil engineers and other types of mechanical engineers and this more from massachusetts, a proud engineer holding her baby there, as well.

and this is a canadian who loves shopping, she loves makeup, and guess what, she is a biomedical engineer. not one time. i look like an engineer, but all of us. she has gotten so much response that she is turning it into a website called www. www.ilooklikeanengineer. it promotes diversity in the technical industry. >> this morning, a show of solidarity by a group boys after they were kicked out of a national basketball tournament because they had a girl on team. now they stand united. here is a photo showing the 11 boys wearing pink uniforms in protest. the charlottesville cavaliers were forced to leave the tournament in south carolina after the coach decided to put ten-year-old in the game. under new rules, officials say that girls can no longer play in the boys tournament. >> they are taking away from the kids that worked so hard the whole year to get to this point. >> crazy stuff. if you are good enough you

but as we look from our san jose camera you can see the white puffy clouds in the distance with continues going to be warming up over the next couple of days. right now santa rosa is 70 and same in napa. novato is 72 and fairfield is 73 and livermore is at 74 degrees. the temperatures will go up slightly by tomorrow because of the weak high pressure. but what is happening is the area of low pressure, tropical storm fair me is making a boomerang pattern trailing off hawaii it is going to bring us wet weather overnight. now, we have a ridge of high pressure that will move out and be replaced with the trough of low pressure and that will cool things off over the weekend. as we take a look at today, we do have a game at the cove and the positive would take on the oakland a's with starting temperatures sunny skies and high u.v. index kind of a day so
